My Projects
My Projects is where you manage the Projects owned by your ioLoop account. You can create new Projects, open them in the Project Editor, manage Creator access, power Projects on or off, restart Projects, and delete Projects you no longer need.
This is typically the first section you visit after signing in to ioLoop.
Project List
The Project list displays the Projects owned by your account. Depending on the selected view, each Project may display:
- Project Name: The name assigned to the Project.
- Status: The current operating state of the Project.
- Compute Units: The compute resources allocated to the Project.
- Development Database: Availability of the development database.
- Production Database: Availability of the production database.
- Add-ons: Additional resources or capabilities assigned to the Project.
You can search for Projects, refresh the list, and switch between list and card views.
Project status determines which actions are available. For example, a Project undergoing creation, startup, shutdown, or deletion may temporarily restrict certain actions until the operation completes.
Create a Project
Select New Project to create a Project in your account.
Enter a Project name using alphanumeric characters and follow the prompts to begin creation.
ioLoop checks your subscription allowances when creating and activating Projects. Depending on your plan, restrictions may apply to the number of Projects you can create or the number that can be active simultaneously.
If the required capacity is unavailable, the dashboard explains the available options, which may include powering off another Project, upgrading your subscription, or purchasing additional active Project capacity.
Once creation begins, the dashboard displays the Project's progress and updates its status when it is ready.
Created Projects vs. Active Projects
It is important to distinguish between created Projects and active Projects.
- Created Projects are Projects that exist in your account, regardless of whether they are currently powered on.
- Active Projects are powered-on Projects that consume active Project capacity under your subscription.
Some subscription plans may allow you to keep more Projects in your account than you can run simultaneously.
Powering off a Project releases its active Project capacity without deleting the Project. You can power it on again when capacity is available.
For information about your account's allowances and additional licenses, see Billing.
Open a Project
Select Edit Project to open a Project in the Project Editor.
The Project Editor is the development environment where you create, customize, test, and publish your application. It includes the Frontend, Backend, AI Agents, Integrations, Scale, Settings, and Publish areas.
Your ability to view or modify Project resources depends on your assigned permissions.
Power Projects On or Off
Projects can be powered on or off from the Account Dashboard. This allows you to manage active Project capacity without deleting Projects you are not currently using.
Power On
Powering on starts the Project's runtime environment, making it available for development and editing in the Project Editor.
Powering on a Project consumes active Project capacity under your subscription.
If your account has reached its active Project limit, you may need to:
- Power off another active Project to free capacity.
- Upgrade to a plan with more active Project capacity.
- Purchase an additional active Project license, if supported by your subscription.
Important: Powering on a previously powered-off Project does not automatically restore its published application. You must republish the application from the Project Editor before it becomes publicly accessible again.
Power Off
Powering off stops the Project's runtime environment and releases its active Project capacity.
When a Project is powered off:
- The Project becomes unavailable for development and editing.
- Its published application becomes inaccessible.
- Its saved configuration and data are retained.
- The Project remains in your account and can be powered on again when active capacity is available.
Important: Powering off a Project makes its published application inaccessible. When the Project is powered on again, you must republish the application to restore public access.
Powering off is useful for temporarily suspending Projects and freeing active Project capacity without deleting them.
Restart a Project
Select Restart to restart a Project's runtime environment.
Restarting can be useful when a Project needs to be reinitialized. During the restart, the Project may be temporarily unavailable.
The dashboard displays the restart progress and updates the Project status when the operation completes.
Creator Access Settings
Use Creator Access Settings on an individual Project to control which account Creators can access it and what they are permitted to do.
The available Project-level permissions are:
- Viewer: Read-only access to the Project.
- Contributor: Read and write access to the Project.
- Publisher: Read, write, and publish access to the Project.
Project-level permissions apply to Creators who have already been added to your account.
Creators may also have account-wide Publisher rights, which provide broader publishing privileges across Projects in the account.
To add or remove account-level Creators or manage their account-wide Publisher rights, visit Creators.
Delete a Project
Select Delete Project to permanently remove a Project from your account.
Warning: Deleting a Project is a destructive action. It can remove the Project's pages, data, application logic, configurations, users, integrations, and other associated resources.
Deleting a Project can also affect its published application and any services or integrations that depend on it.
The dashboard asks you to confirm the deletion before proceeding.
If you only want to stop using a Project temporarily or free active Project capacity, use Power Off instead of deleting it.
Project Status and Operations
Some operations, including creating, powering on, powering off, restarting, and deleting Projects, may take time to complete.
During these operations, the dashboard displays the current Project status and updates the list as the operation progresses.
Actions that require a Project to be ready may be temporarily unavailable while an operation is in progress.
If a Project is suspended or encounters an error, the dashboard may display its status and restrict certain operations until the issue is resolved.
